Sketch Pads

I am pretty sure you already know what sketch pads are used for, if you don't then let me explain.

Sketch pads are used for traditional art, people tend to use pencils or pens mostly to draw in these and depending on what type of sketch pad you get, you get certain paper which works differently with different types of pencils.

We artsits use sketch pads to jot down some ideas and document our art.

One thing you should not do is pressure an artist into showing you their sketch pad. Reason for that is that sometimes we draw out our emotions in these booklets of ours and never want anyone but ourselves to see it.

We may have various sketch pads for different things, one above I mentioned is one I like to call our emotion sketch pad, where like I said, we draw out our emotions whether they be pleasant or unpleasant ones.

We might have another sketch pad just for drawing animals.

What I am saying is that we might have one just for one thing.

I myself have a special one I use for drawing scenary with my pencil.

There is no such thing as having too much sketch pads, in fact, we love having multiple because not only does it make it easier to keep track of what is what, but also it makes it easier to know what you are drawing more of lately.

Sketchbooks are vital when it comes to be being an artist, they are an easy place to record ideas and keep them in one place, try out new things and sketch things out before doing anything drastic.

Let me get started on explaining the different type of pages you can get with sketch pads.

Sometimes you can get a cheap sketchpad with extremely thin paper that is very smooth but can rip easily. These don't normally have many pages in them, so it is best to try and avoid those ones, but if you are desperate go ahead. These sketchpads tend to be very light.

There are sketchpads that have a texture that canvas' would have, these are great for when you want to paint in your sketchpad. It's also really nice to use for sketching and then shading it, it works amazingly. You can do lots of things with these, but I would be careful with Ink.

Currently you can get some that have bamboo pages, these work well too, but I haven't used much to actually say much about this one.

You can get ones that have a texture like printing paper, they may be a different colour, but they are nonless printing paper in away.

Not all good sketchpads are expensive!!! Some cheap ones are actually better than the expesive ones sometimes. You pick what sketcpad is best to use for yourself. For you can get a book one, a binded one and a flip note look alike.

I might suggest making a dream journal strictly used for art you did yourself only, not only is it fun but you can take those monetly challenges online and draw them, a new thing to draw everyday of the month.
